Gershwin
was reknown for his talent as a virtuoso pianist, as well as a fine composer,
and many of his performances were captured on piano roll recordings. Graham
Scott brings these to life in this stunning performance together with
other works including Earl Wild's Grand Fantasy on Gershwin's Porgy and
Bess.
Firmly
established as one of Britain’s leading pianists, Graham Scott has
performed widely in UK and internationally both in piano recitals and
with leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic (at the Royal
Festival Hall), Royal Scottish National Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony
Orchestra, Belgium National Symphony Orchestra, Monte Carlo Philharmonic,
Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Staatsphilharmonie Rheinlandpfalz under
such conductors as Sir Charles Groves, Alexander Lazarev, Marin Alsop
and Bernhard Klee. He has broadcast on BBC Radio and National Public Radio
(USA) and as of August 2003 he takes up the post of Chair of the Keyboard
Department at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. |
